“Silhouette”

This piece titled silhouette illustrates the way mindless consumption of technology more specifically the comparisons made when indulging in social media drains your soul and mind. The addicting light projected from the iPhone casts a thick shadow revealing the common internal struggles that take control over our minds when consuming digital media.

Every moment spent staring at a screen is a moment slipping away—a second stolen by forces that thrive on distraction, detachment, and decay. Time meant for growth, connection, and self-discovery dissolves into an abyss of cheap entertainment, shallow validation, and artificial pleasure.

In envy’s eyes, enough is never enough. It’s easier to compare yourself to somebody else and something we want. The endless cycle of comparison turns self-worth into a currency dictated by strangers, fueling insecurity and an unattainable chase for perfection.

In lusts eyes, it’s easier to escape into erotic fantasy then dealing with the reality of relationships or rejection. Online temptation warps intimacy into impulse, reducing human connection to a transaction of dopamine hits that leave the soul emptier with each click.

Sloth prefers to indulge in the endless dopamine rush produced by doom scrolling. Laziness sets in like a slow rot, numbing ambition and replacing purpose with passive consumption.

The figures in this artwork aren’t just shadows—they are the demons we invite in every time we choose mindless indulgence over real experience. I want this piece to help you recognise these forces so you can take the first step toward reclaiming control.

If you don’t stop to take in this message, you might already be too far gone.
